Land Registry Receives Two Awards at the Public Sector Times eGovernment Awards

The Land Registry is delighted to have been chosen as the winners of the Irish eGovernment Awards in the best Central eGovernment category and also in the overall Best eGovernment category.  This highly prestigious recognition is the culmination of many years of planning and implementation involving a collaborative approach, which included our staff, our customers and other stakeholders and our technology partners.  We are pleased, in particular, that the judging panel considered that our organisation has  "demonstrated outstanding commitment and innovation in its approach to implementing eGovernment services in Ireland".

Catherine Treacy, Chief Executive of the Land Registry is presented with the overall eGovernment Award by Tom Kitt T.D., Minister of State at the Dept of An Taoiseach and Oliver Ryan, Director of REACHWe wish to acknowledge the assistance provided for the development of our eGovernment project through the Information Society Fund administered by the Department of the Taoiseach, the Department of Finance and CMOD.

In the ever changing e-world it is also fitting to have accepted these awards in a year when it is planned to advance other major projects including the addition of the Registry of Deeds to our Electronic Access Services and the introduction of a new Digital Mapping system.   We anticipate that both of these projects will have considerable and continuing benefits for our customers over the coming years and that  the level of use of our electronic services and customer satisfaction with our services will continue to improve.

Finally, we would like to congratulate the Public Sector Times for hosting this initiative and to thank the various sponsors for their generosity which provided the platform to acknowledge so many fine projects within the public sector.
