The Property Registration Authority online service landdirect.ie is based on widely used Web technology. Users who are familiar with the 'look and feel' of other Internet applications will have little difficulty in using the service.
Customers wishing to use the landdirect.ie service require:
- A Web Browser which is Java-enabled. The landdirect.ie software currently operates as a series of Java servlets which return html output to the customer’s workstation. Support for particular Web browsers is dependent on the manufacturer of your workstation’s underlying operating system and it is possible that certain display features may differ from one browser to another. These matters are specific to browser vendors and are not within the control of the Property Registration Authority. However, we have successfully tested access and functionality from the following versions of popular browsers:
|Windows 2000||Windows XP and XP Professional||Vista||Apple OS X 10.5.4|
|IE 6||IE 6 - 8||IE 7 - 8||Firefox 1.5 - 5.0|
|Firefox 1.5||Firefox 1.5 - 5.0||Firefox 5.0||Safari 3.1.2 - 4.0.3|
|Opera 8.5||Opera 8.5 - 9.6||Opera 9.6|| |
|Netscape 8.0||Netscape 8.0 - 9||Netscape 9|| |
| ||Safari 3.1.2||Safari 3.1.2|| |
| ||Google Chrome version 8||Google Chrome version 8|| |
| ||Avant version 11.7||Avant version 11.7|| |

- Adobe Reader, Version 6 or higher. Property Registration Authority folios and other records are downloaded to your computer using Portable Document Format (PDF) and, if you don't already have it, you will need to download the Adobe Reader which is available free of charge from the Adobe website at http://www.adobe.com.
Because the landdirect.ie service provides access to maps, aerial photography and scanned images of Property Registration Authority records, a broadband Internet connection is recommended.
The ‘pop-up’ blocker facility in your browser should be turned off as this prevents the ‘Activity Log’ feature in landdirect.ie.
To optimise services from the digital map, landdirect.ie has been designed to open in a window sized as follows: height = 715 pixels and width = 1024 pixels. The service has also been designed to operate on monitors with a resolution of 1024 x 768 or higher. Customers with larger monitors will be able to operate at 1280 x 1024 or higher.
